Habits that are no good for your skin

You might believe you are doing EVERYTHING possible to control the condition of your skin on a daily basis, but often times it’s the smallest missteps that can ultimately be bad for your skin. We’ve rounded up a few bad skin habits that, if you are guilty of doing, you should kick right now… Sunscreen
In addition to blocking the sun from prematurely ageing your skin, wearing sunscreen on a daily basis helps prevent blotchiness, brown spots, skin discolourations and facial red veins. Not only do many forget to add a decent sunblock to their everyday routine - most are not aware that you in fact need to ensure that all the exposed areas of your body (The neck, chest, ears, hands ect) can also become blotchy, develop brown spots and discolour if they aren’t protected from the sun as well. It is also important to remember that reapplying sunblock every 2 hours is recommended - even on the cloudiest of days. Just because you can not see the sun, doesn’t mean it’s not doing damage.
One needs to wear sunscreen even indoors...People say 'well I don’t even go outside,' well even if you’re inside, did you know that some of the lights inside your house emit some UV rays? Not a lot, but they do emit some, and the number one cause of aging of the skin - 90 percent of the skin aging - is due to one thing, and that’s from UV radiation.
While cooking with gas, flames/heat from the stove give off heat and light. Women who spend long hours in the kitchen cooking need to use sunscreens at least with an SPF of 15.
Makeup Brushes
Washing your makeup brushes takes time, we know. It’s not the most luxurious task, but using dirty brushes can result in breakouts and clogged pores. Foundation and Concealer brushes should at minimum be washed once a week. Eyeshadow, blush and bronzer brushes should not go unwashed for longer than two weeks. It is not often realised that clean makeup brushes are not only beneficial to the condition of your skin, but can also help your products to perform better.
Cleansing Your Skin Before Bed
Your mom was right…you HAVE to wash your face before you go to bed. No exceptions! Carrying the entire days worth of dust, oils and makeup to bed with you is possibly the worse thing anyone can do to their skin. Why is washing your face at night so important? In addition to removing all the grime of the day, when your body is at rest, its temperature rises slightly and absorbs all of the nutrients you put on your face. So while you rest your eyes, your skin
does it’s magic.
Using the Same Skin Products Year-Round
Your skins needs different things from season to season. Each change should be a reminder to re-evaluate your regimen
